The Quality Manager is responsible for all Quality related activities required to successfully deploy the quality assurance corporate and plant standards/procedures and drive the site toward top-performing operation. This includes the oversight of manufacturing-related quality functions at the manufacturing location, including but not limited to the enhancement of quality functions, product and process audits, internal/external product testing, coordination of quality and continuous improvement events to communicate and / or enhance the site's performance, identification of opportunities for improvement, training and education of site's personnel on quality concepts, and implementation of quality programs from inception to completion.

  • Ability to build strong business relationships and work collaboratively across multiple functions
  • End to end quality responsibility: supplier, manufacturing, and customer satisfaction
  • Support the development of the Cornerstone Quality Management System and lead the execution at the factory
  • Develops and executes effective methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training
  • Monitor the customer satisfaction and internal metrics, drive initiatives and projects to improve quality as a competitive advantage
  • Support the development and drive the execution of the Cornerstone Production System Quality Control Pillar
  • Lead and/or facilitate team problem solving for customer and internal quality issues to find true root cause, develop and execute Permanent Corrective Actions
  • Explore, identify, and execute new technologies that improve effectiveness of our quality control systems including error and mistake proof solutions
  • Understand that speed matters and is prompt with action and information, willing to make decisions based on calculated risks, and moves issues to closure by driving teams forward
  • Willingness to travel to visit customers, customer sites, and other Cornerstone locations
  • Deploys and validates approved revisions of existing methods and procedures to improve products and / or processes
  • Manages all CTQ, prioritization quality matrix (QPM), problem-solving, Safe launch and other modules as part of the Corporate Quality strategy.
  • Executes and maintains all reporting documentation for quality-related topics as required
  • Ensures alignment of data collection and analysis with organizational quality objectives
  • Guarantees measuring equipment calibrations are being performed and kept up with per schedule
  • Engages the leadership team in setting and achieving goals utilizing Quality initiatives. This includes working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements in specific areas.
  • Provides input and feedback to key leadership positions about process improvement opportunities
  • Leads efforts to develop and deliver training.
  • Develops and manages to departmental budget, communicate status, and recommends future needs
  • Is responsible for the hiring, leadership, development, coaching, evaluation and disciplinary actions of the departmental staff
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Six Sigma certification a plus
  • The successful candidate will have at least 5+ years of manufacturing experience and at least 2 years of quality experience or continuous improvement
  • Enthusiastic about the value quality and continuous improvement bring to the manufacturing process and passionate about keeping technical skills up to date, understanding best practices, and deploying quality systems and kaizen events to achieve prescribed goals and targets
  • Displays a strong ability to use data to rationally analyze and solve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff and run events
  • Thorough understanding of quality standards and methodologies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
