Job Description
Job Summary

We are looking for an Operations Manager in La Porte, Texas. This role will supervise and coordinate regional operations to ensure the fleet's operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and adherence to standard operating procedures. You will also support the Terminal Manager in managing 24/7 operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct regional operations to maintain the fleet and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently and supervise operations supervisors.
  • Promote teamwork among operations, maintenance, and administrative staff.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Manage customer relations, investigate incidents, and address problems proactively.
  • Hire, train, and develop operations staff while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs when necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise operations supervisors, service technicians, and OTR drivers. Oversee performance appraisals, work assignments, and employee training.

Adaptability

Must be adaptable to rapidly changing conditions and able to respond quickly to unexpected issues. Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills are required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand P&L statements and solve problems with unknown variables. Must use intuition, common sense, and strong communication skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
Customer Relations Skills

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this role.

Computer Skills

Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Solomon software, and Internet/Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • TWIC Card preferred.
  • Personal hand tools and relevant certifications as required by OSHA.
