Job Description
Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Analytics Engineer in Dallas, TX who will be responsible for supporting the digital work strategy to support the identification and implementation of technologies that facilitates work process automation and improved efficiencies, especially by utilizing AI/ML.

Job Duties
  • Support Industry 4.0 technology projects for the Refinery.
  • Develop proofs of concept to be able to propose industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple groups to foster an adoption of analytical tools.
  • Develop and sustain applicable OEMS practices and standards
  • Support Application Program Management (APM)
  • Be a self-starter and prioritize work effectively
  • Work on-site regularly, 1 week per month expected, special projects may require more travel
  • Lead development of specific APM programs that include tools, RREs, KPIs, and work processes
  • Support Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) initiatives as needed
  • Develop templates, standard tools, and best practices for fleetwide applications
  • Provide process/reliability technical support and mentoring as needed
  • Regularly share progress, learnings, and achievements cross-fleet
  • Understand and elevate emerging technologies that have the potential to improve refinery reliability performance
  • Managing contractors and vendors associated with technology deployments

Experience
  • 5+ years experience in the Refining Industry with ability to understand oil flows and process unit technology.
  • Experience coordinating with IT groups in order to deploy modern/digital solutions including digital technology solutions, AI/ML, and managing digital workplace capabilities and products

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge around the use of process data historians
  • Knowledge around multiple refinery process unit technologies
  • OSI PI Asset Framework or equivalent experience
  • Experience in delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML Software

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a four-year degree is required

  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations
  • Must fluently and clearly speak, read, and write in English

Preferred Skill

  • LSS Green or Black Belt
  • Power BI or Tableau reporting
  • Analytical Tools (Seeq, PI Asset Framework)
  • Python coding
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May act as team leader during special projects, and may manage contractors and vendors

Work Conditions

Up to 25% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed
