Responsibilities

Materials Manager

Performs responsibilities requiring the integration of disciplines from more than one Materials Management and Transportation job family and applies independent, specialized technical expertise to support a wide range of business objectives. Activities include, but are not limited to, the development, integration, implementation, and execution of multidisciplinary business processes. Works cross-functionally with internal and external customers and all employee levels to carry out responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Managing material handlers across multiple Defense Programs and buildings
  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with Hourly Employees, multifunction Managers, Program Directors, and others as needed
  • Understand DFAR regulations and effectively flow them down to employees
  • Lead and direct process improvement initiatives
  • Support Program Leadership needs
  • Report and provide material adjustments to material analysts
  • Ability to work with IAM Representatives to address hourly employee concerns
  • Support Change Board needs for material changes and storing needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD clearance
  • Willingness to learn (continuous learning)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively work simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional time management skills
  • SAP Experience
  • Multiple years of experience managing union represented hourly employees
  • Knowledge of EVM (Earned Value Management)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
