Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Recognized as the subject matter expert within the department/organization in the coaching, facilitation, and deployment/use of CI tools
  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
  • Identify and define improvement projects aligned with business strategies using Just-In-Time/Lean manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Facilitate/coach projects of continuous improvement activities from inception through completion, and act as primary customer contact to meet project objectives
  • May lead a group of other CI specialists when requiring oversight/coordination of multiple improvement projects
  • Catalyst for initiating change activities and will coach for sustaining momentum
  • Develop and implement improvement plans and schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely completion, conducting reviews, and overseeing the implementation of improvement tasks
  • Disciplines are related to Operations, project management, communication, training, program governance and problem-solving skills
  • Performs work with minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
  • Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results may result in the significant expenditure of company resources
  • Serves as subject matter expert to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' related work experience, a Master's Degree and 3+ years' related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • This role requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Successful candidates must be able to secure Program access approval

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business Management, Program Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related manufacturing discipline
  • 9+ years' related work experience
  • Prior Operations experience either working with or in a shop environment
  • Prior experience communicating with shop and management level employees
  • Lean Master Coach Certification or equivalent belt level in Six Sigma
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate to expert user of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Existing DoD secret or top-secret security clearance prior to acceptance of position
  • Existing Prime customer clearance
