Compensation: $32 /hr
Worksite Location: NCAT Campus

Overview / Job Summary:
We are excited to invite a talented and highly motivated individual to become a vital member of our team as a Tooling and Fixture Fabrication Specialist. As an integral part of our multidisciplinary program, you will have a significant impact, utilizing your hands-on expertise, ranging from basic hand tools to advanced technologies like the FARO Laser Tracker.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
  • Take advantage of state-of-the-art labs and classrooms at the National Center for Aviation Training to refine your craft and stay up to date with the latest industry trends.
  • Work closely with local aerospace organizations, actively participating in the manufacturing process of aircraft, and gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
  • Embrace continuous learning and participate in workplace skills training to enhance your abilities and excel in a global economy.
  • Contribute to shaping the future of aviation through comprehensive training in tooling, metrology, and fixture construction. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring and preparing students for successful careers in the aerospace industry
Your responsibilities will encompass instructing individuals on the proper utilization of equipment necessary for task completion, with a focus on key areas including Machining, Blueprint Interpretation, Safety Protocols, Quality Assurance, Welding Techniques, CAD Software, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Mastery of Hand and Power Tools, Fixture Design and Construction, as well as Proficiency in Metrology Software.

Education:
  • Prefer 1-2 years of experience operating Coordinate Measurement Systems including Faro, Leica, or API Laser Trackers, Arms, and the operation of SA, Verisurf, Metrology, and PolyWorks software systems. Understand basic shop math/ trig and GD&T requirements.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
  • Proven experience in welding, machining, and electronics, with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Analyze blueprints, engineering models, engineer drawings and electronic control tools before programming and compare results with original planning specifications.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/6 and/or Mastercam X7 or newer to model cutting paths and program for 2 to 5 axis machines.
  • Confidence in the application, setup, and troubleshooting FARO Laser tracker equipment and spatial analyzer software.
Additional Requirements:
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education, demonstrating a strong ability to engage and educate adult learners effectively.
  • Availability for required course assignments to ensure a consistent and reliable teaching presence.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, technical, and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all aspects of the role.
