Job Description

The Investment Partnership Tax internship will include helping with our ongoing investment partnership project as well as exposure to tax forms and software. This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the intern must be available during the "core" work hours of 9 am to 4 pm and must work 35 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Time Commitment

Our Summer internship is a paid full-time internship at $25 an hour. There could be additional overtime through the course of your internship depending on workflow. Your availability will be discussed during the interview process.

Our Summer internship will begin in May and conclude in mid-August. We recommend no more than 1 or 2 classes during your internship to ensure both your success in the internship and your schoolwork does not suffer.

Essential Functions

General

  • Recording data from received K1s to be used for preparing the tax returns related to the investment partnership project
  • Analysis on tax return documents such as: hedge fund K1, state K1, interpreting footnotes, and identifying foreign reporting
  • Reviewing tax source documents
  • Build a working knowledge of tax forms and processes
  • Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks
  • Proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback
  • Learn about the Firm - get to know partners/managers, services provided, specialties of individuals, key clients and industries served
  • Build communication skills: practice business writing (clear workpapers and emails), working with other professionals, and feeling comfortable in business situations.

Required Education and Experience

Energetic, team-oriented applicants should be an Accounting major proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively are all essential to this position.
